Did anyone catch the “Paris, Not France” documentary special on MTV? It was an hour and a half documentary on the life of Paris Hilton. I’ve got to say that she is a lot smarter then people give her credit for! She has managed to create this brand image as “Paris the Heiress” that she referred to as Legally Blonde meets Green Acres and has made millions of dollars on her own with it. They touched on a lot of stuff in her personal life with her family and the relationship they all have, they even brought up the infamous sex tape. Overall this is the first time she has really opened up and showed that she is a real person and seems to be a pretty hard worker. Besides comparing herself to Marilyn Monroe a lot, I thought that this was much better then the Britney Spears documentary that aired last year in the midst of her craziness.
MTV has continued to play anything but music videos as they introduced their newest reality show “16 and Pregnant” this season. Not only did they do an episode on each couple and their pregnancies, but they also brought everyone back for a special on “Life After Labor” that Dr. Drew hosted. Dr. Drew handled the special very well with remaining sensitive to the controversial topic of teen pregnancy but still was able to ask realistic questions that didn’t necessarily allude to a fairy tale ending. The show has ended up being a big success for MTV and left many wondering what will be in store for these teens and their children in the future.
