Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes are going head to head – but it’s all in good fun.
The guys started a mock war on Instagram Sunday after Shawn posted the cover for UK newspaper The Guardian’s weekly mag, The Observer, on which he’s dubbed the “Prince of Pop.”
Justin slid into the comments writing: “Hmm. Gonna have to break a few more records to dethrone my title there bud (canadian voice) but if you want, we can play hockey for it but i heard your[e] a real bender on the ice we could just drop the buckets and tilt for it.”
To which Shawn replied, “ “LOL any time any day you just let me know!!!!!!”
Fans immediately started arguing in the comments as to which singer is really the Prince of Pop, which led Justin to add, “There is no competition and it was a playful joke people relax.. there’s no sides we’re all just here to make dope music.”
“I’m just competitive as is he so it was just a little playful jargon,” Justin added.
