The Scottish singer has been on a mission to get “Someone You Love” to #1 with an Instagram campaign dubbing himself America’s Sweetheart with some hilarious pics

They just kept getting better

and it worked. He just celebrated his first US number one by painting his face with the Stars and Stripes and declaring himself “America’s sweetheart”.

“I feel like America’s sweetheart, at least for a moment,” Capaldi told Billboard magazine. “I feel like I’m the sweetest heart in all of the US of A.
