In an interview with Variety, Miley Cyrus opened up about her sobriety. She said, “It’s been really important for me over the last year living a sober lifestyle because I really wanted to polish up my craft. I had a really big vocal surgery in November.”
Miley said that during her recovery period she began to dig into her family history, which has, quote, “a lot of addiction and mental health challenges.” After learning more she decided to keep her sober lifestyle.
She adds, quote, “It’s really hard because especially being young, there’s that stigma of ‘you’re no fun.’ It’s like, ‘honey, you can call me a lot of things, but I know that I’m fun.'”
Miley Cyrus: “You should’ve seen my face when @britneyspears covered “I Love Rock ’n’ Roll” in “Crossroads.” I melted down. That scene was the father, the son and the Holy Spirit all in one room” https://t.co/3UYL7Nj7iq
