Everyone who’s ever listened to Sam Smith knows that their voice is magical. From the sultry tones of “Too Good at Goodbyes,” to the subtle angst in “Dancing With a Stranger,” Sam’s range is full of surprises.
But it’s not a huge surprise that when the UK-born singer covered “Fix You” by Coldplay, it turned out amazing. Shot in a tastefully empty room, Sam sits on a stool and does what needed to be done with the song, bringing out the emotion and leaving the instrumental laid bare in the background.
Over a delicate bed of keys, you can hear Sam drawing breath and holding back, to give the song what it needs. But don’t just take my word for it – listen to the cover right here!
