There isn’t a single record, #1 achievement, or milestone that the #BTSArmy isn’t intent on securing for their boys. The 7-piece Korean boy group is backed by the world’s most passionate fanbase, who are always ready to support their guys in any way possible. And this week, BTS, scored another victory when the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) released their data about 2020’s best-selling albums in the world!
That, for the Army, is what you’d call a job well done.
Of course, BTS was also joined by some of the world’s top Western-based talent, as you can clearly see in IFPI’s Top 10 sales ranking:
1. BTS – Map of the Soul: 7
2. The Weeknd – After Hours
3. Billie Eilish – When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?
4. BTS – Be (Deluxe Edition)
5. Harry Styles – Fine Line
6. Post Malone – Hollywood’s Bleeding
7. Kenshi Yonezu – Stray Sheep
8. Justin Bieber – Changes
9. Taylor Swift – Folklore
10. Dua Lipa – Future Nostalgia
Just like the best-selling songs chart, compiled by IFPI’s worldwide data, there’s one unfamiliar international name who made the list. This time it’s Kenshi Yonezu, at number 7, who’s an award-winning Japanese vocalist who clearly dominated the charts in his home country! Maybe we’ll see more of him in America soon…
Looking around the rest of the Top 10, hitmakers like The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa, Post Malone, and more strut their stuff, and if you’ve heard most of these albums, it’s no wonder that they took the world by storm!
