Soleil Moon Frye Joined Elvis Duran and The Morning Show To Talk About Her Punky Brewster Reboot
Soleil Moon Frye joined Elvis Duran and the Morning Show to talk all about her Punky Brewster reboot, reuniting with old co-stars and her original documentary Kid 90.
In the Punky Brewster reboot, Punky is now a single mother raising three kids. “I feel so grateful,” Soleil told Elvis Duran Friday morning, “I always wanted to bring Punky back. I’m like full-on Punky power forever!”
One of the best parts for Soleil was reuniting with her friend/sister, Cherie Johnson, after 18 years. “I’ll never forget when we came back together… I was waiting for her on the other side of the elevator,” she continues, “burst into tears because I love her so much. It’s just always been one of those spirit soulful relationships.”
Punky Brewster is now available to watch on Peacock!
Soleil also released her original documentary Kid 90 on Hulu with hundreds of hours of real footage of her life as a teenager in the 90s. “It was as if my teen self left this chronological blueprint for me to find my way back to who I once was,” she told Elvis. “I just feel so grateful and humbled by it and sharing it with others is the greatest joy.”
