LIL NAS X admitted he wasn’t happy when “Bad Guy” beat “Old Town Road” for Record of the Year at the 2020 “Grammys”.
In an interview with British GQ, he said he spent many months of quarantine “killing off” his jealousy. “I put all that energy I was feeling onto her. It became jealousy that wasn’t warranted,” he revealed. “You have the longest-running number-one song, why the [eff] are you jealous about this award?”
He continued, “We are already so blessed. Even if you don’t have these things, you’re here. You’re still alive. You exist. You shouldn’t have any reason to be jealous.”
Nas talked to the publication about confidence: “Finding confidence”; “Discovering confidence.” “I’ve been rebuilding my self-confidence to a whole new level,” he says. “I’m learning more and being more attuned to the universe.”
