Drake Releases Statement On Astroworld Tragedy

Drake has spoken out following the Astroworld festival tragedy, which left eight people dead after a stampede.

Drake shared on Instagram, “I’ve spent the past few days trying to wrap my mind around this devastating tragedy. I hate resorting to this platform to express an emotion as delicate as grief but this is where I find myself.”

He continued, “My heart is broken for the families and friends of those who lost their lives and for anyone who is suffering. I will continue to pray for all of them, and will be of service in any way I can. May God be with you all.”

Drake was on stage with Travis on Friday (November 5th).

Travis Scott has announced that he will pay all funeral costs for the eight people who died at the Astroworld Festival in Houston on Friday night.

He’s also teaming up with an online service called BetterHelp to provide free mental health services to those affected.

A statement from his rep says, “These are the first of many steps Travis plans on taking as a part of his personal vow to assist those affected throughout their grieving and recovery process.”

On top of that, Live Nation is giving out full refunds to all ticketholders . . . those who were at Friday’s show and people who had tickets for Saturday’s events, which were canceled.

They’re also setting up a fund to help pay for medical expenses and mental health counseling for those injured.
