Raise your hand if you’re surprised by this one.
Nobody? Thought so.
A Los Angeles Superior Court just dismissed a $4 billion lawsuit against the rapper Drake, filed by the woman who broke into his home back in 2017. Mesha Collins, who was arrested for that home invasion but didn’t face any charges, had claimed Drake owed her those big bucks because he posted about the trespassing event on his Instagram.
The judge disagreed, writing, “Even if plaintiff Collins could establish the statements were about her, she has failed to establish that such statements were of a private fact that is offensive and objectionable to the reasonable person.”
In other words, if you did the crime, people are allowed to talk about it.
Long story short: Drake doesn’t owe the woman who broke into his house an additional $4 billion. So again, is anyone shocked?
