Donald Glover Releases 'The Swarm EP' In Connection With New Series

Donald Glover recently released The Swarm EP, produced as the soundtrack for his new Amazon Prime Video horror series of the same name.

Billie Eilish makes her acting debut in the new show, created by Glover and "Atlanta" writer and producer Janine Nabers.

The six-track EP includes songs featuring Ni'jah, Kirby, and Glover, whose stage name is Child Gambino.

The project was executive-produced by Glover and Michael Uzowuru and co-produced by Fam Udeorji.

"Kirby has such a versatile sound and songwriting ability; she was able to elevate and amplify every moment she was a part of" Glover said about his collaboration with the singer-songwriter. "It's been a pleasure to collaborate, to bring this story to life sonically and I couldn't imagine what this would sound like without her involvement."

"I fell in love with the idea of becoming the 'Ni'jah' character," said Kirby. "What would she say in this scene? What would she sound like? It was liberating to go in and write & sing without any rules."

"There are people who are called 'genius' and people who truly are. After working with Donald, Michael, Fam & Riley I truly know the difference," she added.

Chloe Bailey Reveals 'In Pieces' Album Cover

Chloe Bailey Reveals 'In Pieces' Album Cover

Rising R&B star Chloe Bailey has revealed the cover of her upcoming album, In Pieces.

The cover art shows the Chloe x Halle artist with red hair, draped in a Victorian-style dress, holding a heart in her hand.

Explaining about the idea behind the album cover, Bailey wrote on Twitter, "I saw a photo of a porcelain doll 3 years ago, holding her heart just like this and from then, I said this will be my album cover. that same day I also wrote heart on my sleeve."

"The beginning of a scary and exciting journey for me. This cover represents so much for me, down to the color of my hair. When I had red hair 1.5 years ago, it was one of the darkest times in my life. That's why I never wore it again," she added.

Speaking about the inspiration for the album, Bailey said, "In Pieces is for the ones who behind closed doors are breaking and don't know how much more they can take. In Pieces is for the ones who hold the people up around them while barely holding themselves."

"In Pieces is for the people who continue to get stabbed in the back, heart broken by the ones they thought they could trust, but STILL that doesn't change their heart and how they love," she continued. "In Pieces is for the ones like me, who wear their outer shell so well that you'd have no idea what they're going through."

In Pieces is set for release on March 31 via Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia Records.

Pedro Pascal Shares Love For Prince While Eating Hot Wings

Pedro Pascal revealed his love for Prince while eating hot wings with Sean Evans.

"The Mandalorian" star was the latest celebrity to feature on First We Feast's "Hot Ones" challenge, in which stars eat ten chicken wings, with each wing being hotter than the last one. They will also have to answer questions from host and co-creator Sean Evans.

"The Last of Us" actor finished the 10-wing challenge, maintaining a cool demeanor. On the last chicken wing, Evans asked Pascal about his love for Prince, and asked him why "Purple Rain" is the song the star would want to be played at his funeral.

"It's my favorite song. It's the most moving song," Pascal shared. "I don't know why, but it always emerges even before I actively started implementing it into my spiritual routine, essentially. I didn't go to church. I was raised by HBO, Spielberg and Prince."

"For me, 'Purple Rain' is the most emotionally cathartic, the most musically sophisticated song that I can think of. If it's casually or spontaneously playing somewhere, I don't have emotional space to go there because it just moves me so deeply," he added.

Salt-N-Pepa Look Back On 'Shoop' Video

Salt-N-Pepa Look Back On 'Shoop' Video

The latest of installment of Vevo Footnotes, marking the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop, sees Salt-N-Pepa sharing some behind-the-scenes experiences at the making of the "Shoop" video.

During the episode, Pepa delves into the story behind the song and her verse, and recounted the challenges face by the group in convincing their label to release "Shoop" as the lead single from their album, Very Necessary.

Pepa also shares the excitement the group felt when the song became a huge hit and cemented their position in hip-hop.

Salt speaks about how the song helped her move away from her boyfriend and manager and how it empowered women. She also discussed her favorite moment from the music video shoot and reveals that she recorded her verse while holding her daughter Corin.

"The concept for 'Shoop' started with me chillin' in Queens, riding around in the car and I'm telling the story of how 'I saw a brother, I had to kick it to, I'm not shy so I asked for the digits and that does not make me a hoe.' This story became the song and the inspiration for the first verse," she said.

"When shooting 'Shoop' I was a bit self conscious. It was hard being in a bathing suit and my booty kept falling out of my shorts when we were dancing on stage. The objective was to turn the tables on men - make them the objects. When writing my verses, I was thinking of tongue in cheek ways to objectify men. When you really like a song, it's easy to record," added Salt.
