Drake didn’t get to finish his speech though, he was cut off

Dua Lipa also threw a little shade at the Grammy’s while accepting Best New Artist she said “I guess where I want to begin is by saying how honored I am to be nominated among so many incredible female artists. I guess this year we’ve really stepped up.”

Which of course fans took reference a statement made by the previous Recording Academy president Neil Portnow when asked why more males were winning he said, “It has to begin with women who have the creativity in their hearts and souls, who want to be musicians, who want to be engineers, producers, and want to be part of the industry on the executive level. [They need] to step up because I think they would be welcome.”

She went on to encourage fans
